Issue 15 SS23: The RE Issue

KING KONG is a dynamic platform showcasing groundbreaking artists across art, fashion, film, music, and literature. It highlights art's power to respond to ideas and events shaping our contemporary experience. In 2023, KING KONG invited me to contribute as a designer for their magazine and social media. Since then, I've worked on Issue 15 SS23: The RE Issue and Issue 16 FW23: The Americana Issue.

Face Filters

Before Instagram removed user-generated filters, I created a series of face filters as a way to experiment with graphic styles and visual framing. Rather than altering the face itself, most of my filters are graphic overlays, frames, textures, and design layers that sat around or across the face.

These filters were a space for visual play and personal style, and some unexpectedly gained wide traction, one of them was used over 500,000 times. What interests me most is how these designs circulated: detached from authorship, anonymously replicated, and absorbed into other people’s content. It’s a quiet kind of reach, distributed but invisible.

I spoke about this work during the Let's Get Phygital artist talk at the London College of Fashion in 2024, reflecting on how face filters sit between design, performance, and virtual embodiment.

The Pile

A collection of various graphic design projects I’ve made over the years, some commissioned, some experimental. There’s no clear theme or structure, just a mix of outcomes that reflect where I was, what I was exploring, or who I was designing for at the time.
